OMG were these baked beans good!!! But, I used a little less ground meat (I had 1.5 lbs for a double recipe and they were a bit on the liquid side which I drained off abt a cup and a half. But no matter, the taste was excellent.

As for the fried pineapple rings, I rate that as "don't bother." There needs to be more flavor to the batter. Just egg and flour is bland; sprinkling a little salt helped some but not really the answer to save the result.

I made this for the my friends kick-off football party and the raves have poured in! Of course, I did not follow the recipe exactly but this gave the premise for the ingredients I used.

The crowd loved it because they were slightly sweet and not as heavy as regular chili. I did add a little ground ginger to cut down on the...after effects (old new england secret. Try this dish!!

I found this recipe while trying to find some good slow cooker recipies. I happened to have all the ingrediants on hand and made it the following day.

I used bbq flavored beans, and a little less bbq sauce, but otherwise stayed on the recipe.

It was tasty, but didn't "wow" me. I'd cook it again, but let it thin out more and use it as a sloppy joe recipe. It goes great on tosted bread.

I had difficulty frying the pineapple rings, but pineapple is now a common addition to my baked beans

I brought this dish along to a family reunion. Since we had to travel quite a distance, I precooked the meat with the onions, green peppers, etc. and froze it, brought along the beans and pineapple tidbits in the cans and put it all together in the cooker when we got there. I had also doubled the recipe. It turned out wonderfully and there were almost no leftovers. Everyone (including my group loved the beans. There was a Hawaiian theme for the reunion so I called them "Hawaiian Beans". The only thing I might change the next time is the amount of meat. This is a VERY meaty dish and could be used as a main dish.
