Favorite recipe of all time! I use thinly sliced flank or skirt steak rather than roast beef. I've even converted the recipe slightly so I can have it for breakfast too! Throw some scrambled eggs on top and put inside a tortilla, bagel, crossaint or any other breakfast bread...awesome!

I sometimes eat this 2-3 times a month. I freeze the sauce so I can have when I get a craving for it. So good!

Well even though you can get by with bowls to dip peices of sandwich in,,,,the original recipe comes from Guadalajara, Mexico,,,and its name is derived from submerging the whole sandwich before serving! It is less messy the other way,,,but the other way isn't Drowned sandwich,,,it is dipped sandwich peices! If you change the process,,,you have to change the name!

This was SO GOOD and so easy to make!! I didn't add the fresh jalepeno, but the chipotles added enough heat on their own. Had sauce left over so I am going to use it as the base for some gazpacho for tomorrow's lunch- yum!

Very good flavor. I followed the recipe to the letter and used 2 chipotle chilis. It was just the right amount of heat for us without killing us. The recipe does make a lot of dipping sauce so be prepared to freeze it or use it for something else. I definitely will be making this again. Thanks!

Holy cow were these good! I skipped the chipotle and they were still amazing. Very simple, incredibly flavorful, and the sauce can be used so many ways. Make extra.

My husband and I loved this sandwich, along with the broccoli and celery slaw from the same show. I will make it again.

This recipe was great and very easy. I made one change and served it on whole wheat tortillas instead of bread...I also added grated cheese....I used the remaining sauce the next day with scrambled eggs, sauted onions, cheese and bacon on the whole wheat tortillas.
