Every year for Christmas, I make a huge dinner for friends and family. Every year, we have a prime rib, and this was by far the best I have had so far. It is full of big, bold flavors and my guests absolutely LOVED it.

I never ever attempted something so SEEMINGLY overwhelming. I made this for my Husband and our 3 kids for a special dinner. What a winner!!! I watched him make this one sunday with the kids and they said we have to try that. We rushed out to gather all the ingredients, prepared it together and to our surprise it looked just like his!!! The seasonings were spot on and our 21 month old loved the Horseradish sauce too. What a treat. The best part it was EASY!

Ok, so I have inlaws who have been eating prime rib at the same place for years and refused to believe anyone but K could make them happy! I took the challenge armed with this EASY recipe. Sure, they were polite to my face! However, it was the comments they made to their friends and requests for the recipe that made me believe I had won them over! Downside.....I have to make the prime rib for them from now on!!! BUMMER...LOL

I too gathered up all the seasonings, a grinder and even a cast iron skillet. We reduced the amount of salt a fennel seed (My preferences added a little ground mustard seed and sweet smoked paprika (my Husband's choice. Other then that we followed the receipe exactly. Had a 5 1/2 Lb roast so it was close to the 6 LB he used. My husband says he will try this again but cut back even more on the sea salt and may add Cumin next time.

My husband could be described as a Wanna-be-Chef. He has made some AMAZING things for our family of seven - but THIS recipe was his BEST so far. He made it for Christmas dinner (for us and extended family and it was PERFECT. Just as it says in my title - this is our families new Christmas Dinner Tradition. The meat was perfect - just like it looked when Aaron McCargo Jr made it. The spices were bold and fabulous! The horseradish sauce was BY FAR the most delicious I have ever had. Our 2 year old niece ate it with a spoon and fussed for more when her mom took it away. He made the brocoli dish from this episode with a little more cayenne than it called for and it was wonderful also. You gotta love the spice!

I made this for my family and they loved it. This is the best prime rib I have ever made. The seasoning was very bold and full of flavor. I will make this again and recommend it to others. It's easy to make and very impressive.

How do you drain sour cream?

McCargo's food looks better than any other tv prepared recipes that I've ever seen (haven't tried this one yet, so the rating is just a guess at this point.

I watched this episode one Sunday and immediately went out and gathered supplies to make the prime rib. I was a little unsure of some of the spices as I haven't used all of them before but I must say this was so delicious that I'm cooking it for Christmas dinner. Everyone loved it!

This was most excellent! My husband made it for us and our 2 children and everyone loved it. We plan to try it again with a different cut of meat.
