    I've been roasting chickens forever and didn't think one could be better than my standard. This one is. I think the bacon is key. This will produce an incredibly moist and flavorful bird. Do follow - as someone else said - the cooking time at the top of the recipe rather than in the text of the recipe.

    This recipe was easy and delicious. Like others, I added quartered baby red potatoes and carrots in the 2nd hour and they were wonderful. Also, since I had extra herbs and no-salt butter, I made up 3 extra batches of the herbed butter and froze them for the next time I make this recipe.

    I also zested the orange used inside the chicken and added the zest to the butter.

    put some parboiled potatoes in the pan 1hr before you plan on taking the chicken out.

    Great recipe!! Follow the cooking time above (1hr 20mins as the recipe leads you to believe it's only 50mins. Far too short for a 5 1/2 pounder! Good stuff!

    This was the first time I ever made roast chicken, and it was SPECTACULAR!!!! This is the way I plan to make roast chicken FOREVER!

    This chicken is so moist and tasty, you must try it. It is the best roast chicken I've ever made. Thanks again Tyler for a wonderful recipe that I will share with family and friends.

    Well let me tell you that this chicken was not only easy but the taste was fantastic. I cooked everything accordingly and served this with the sauce (light gravy a slice of polenta and then the chicken. It was the most flavorful dish I have had. Today with his left overs I am makeing Chicken Pot Pies. This recipe is so worth the time. Nothing better than Tyler Florence Food.
