Onions were great..The steak sauce really isnt a steak sauce it's more of a fortified ketchup. I made a batch and is great on burgers and when you make a meat loaf. I also used red wine vs. sherry. Delmonicos aren't a premium cut so cook mid rare let rest and cut into thin strips then drizzle the sauce over. If you make a batch of the sauce ahead of time, this is a quick and solid mid week meal.

Awesome, I didn't have sherry on hand so I used red wine, I also added a pinch of sugar to the tomato sauce to cut down the acid. Will be making again this summer!

The onions and balsamic was good, I added some portabella mushrooms to the onions and I feel that really made it very good. The sauce is an overkill once you've topped the steak with the onions, and the sauce itself I didn't find very tasty it had a bitter after taste, guess I'm not a fan of tomato sauce being put on steak. I may try using the sauce on something else once I've altered it, maybe a little sugar would help it.

I used about 4 tbs of ketchup instead of the tomatoe sauce and it was fabulous!

Made this recipe for my family when my son came home on visit from the military. He, and the rest of the fam, loved it. The onions were a big hit and I've since used them for different dishes, as well. Thank you.

This recipe turned out perfect! It was very easy and I will make it again and again! The onions were great. I used Montreal Steak Seasoning.

8 oz of tomato sauce was WAY too much for this sauce... I added more Worcestershire sauce to compensate, and still all I tasted was tomato! The balsamic onions were decent though, at least as far as I could tell under all the tomato sauce.

I'm not a meat-eater, but my parents and my husband LOVED this dish. My husband's exact words were "I could eat this every night." Thanks Rachel - it's another winner!
