this was OK. the frosting was the best part but the actual cake was pretty gross. I like the idea but i'd rather use a different cupcake recipe- maybe chocolate.

This rating is only for the AMAZING peanut butter frosting! I never made the cupcakes, so I can't comment on them, but I have made the frosting for other recipes. It tastes like Reese's peanut butter cups! People rave about the frosting whenever I make it. Eat-it-on-cardboard good!

I just made these. The concept deserves 3 stars, but the sad thing about this cupcake is the actual cake. I make cupcakes all the time and pride myself on fluffy moist cupcakes.
The frosting is terrific (though the frosting recipe makes enough frosting for twice the cupcakes the recipe produces. The sprinkles idea works great.
The CAKE. Oh god. Where to begin? It's SO dense. Tastes like some yellow cake cornbread hybrid. This a mediocre cupcake and it's all the cake portion's fault.
THE SOLUTION.
This cupcake could be 5x better with an out-of-the-box white cake, just fill them with jelly and top with the frosting/sprinkles.
This is coming from a girl who NEVER bakes out of the box. Always go from scratch, but this cake recipe is so very sad.
C'mon Food Network. You can do better than this. (Also, the twice as much frosting than needed thing - Get it together.

I decided to make these for a coworker during a peanut butter and jelly sandwich phase our area was going through. the frosting is what makes these cupcakes in my opinion. It is super addictive, the smell was almost peanut intoxication. Cutting to the chase, I ended up making 4 batches of these little pastry delights over this past holiday season, kids and kids at heart will love these. I liked them with boysenberry jelly. So good.

Not my first rodeo but maybe I did something wrong. Only item not room temp was the milk but the batter never looked right - butter and sugar didn't come together. Only got 11 cupcakes. Finished cake was not tender and full of holes. Icing was curdly looking (I used premium butter and cream cheese but maybe Costco's organic peanut butter is a bad choice. One bright spot - the jelly was perfect! I notice that the other similar recipe on the site doesn't get high ratings, either. Maybe it is best to make a cupcake and spread peanut butter on top and not do all the work. What do you think?

I just made the frosting, and it is very good. but it is a little oily. so I would only use a half a stick of butter, and a cap full of vanilla. other than that very good!

This peanut butter frosting is insanely good! Didn't try the cupcakes, used the frosting for chocolate cupcakes.

I made these for both a classroom of children this week and two weeks ago for our neighborhood of all ages children to adult and everyone loved these. they were very easy and i used a pampered chef easy accent decorator with the thinnest tip and inserted my jelly( and it made it so simple( also varied it my second batch with apple jelly in some, strawberry in some and grapeit was a big hit! They r so good u really dont even need too much as far as the candy bar pieces on top. I shaved a chocolate bar and sprinkled on tops.
