I seasoned things a little heavier and left the garlic in. I couldn't taste the red pepper flakes at all. This was my first attempt to parboil before sauteing and I loved it! I'll probably go for less time on the parboiling next time and finish them out in the skillet longer. The mixture of green beans and broccoli were perfect and a combination that I had never thought of before. I added some boxed spinach as well and the colors were lovely in the dish together. Finished it off with some parmesan cheese for the kids and they loved it too!

I have to say that THIS is an awesome recipe!!! You can adjust the red pepper flakes to your liking. For me and my kids we omit them completely as not to start ww3! haha.. THANK YOU SOO MUCH for this recipe!! WE ALL LOVE it!.. TRY IT!!

I cooked this as a side for my husband last night, and the first words he said to me were "if you were single I'd marry you all over again!"

This recipe was so easy to make and so delicious. I will be making this side very often from now on. I recommend this recipe to all working moms for any night of the week.

I actually used frozen broccoli and green beans that I thawed out and squeezed out really well to get rid of all the excess moisture. This worked out great and had a nice kick!

This will definitely become a regular on my dinner table. I couldn't believe how easy it is to make and it's so flavorable -- full of richness and brightness. also, the chicken comes out perfectly thanks to 5 minutes of simmering. It's excellent along with the broccoli and green beans recipe -- inexpensive, easy, healtyh and a true crowd pleaser
