I have made this fried chicken several times and it is the ONLY fried chicken my family and I will eat. It is delicious and beats KFC by miles! I do admit that it can be a little time consuming and messy, but oh so worth every minute! We have been seeing commercials for KFC's chicken bites and I decided to try the recipe using cubed chicken breast. I cut the chicken into one inch pieces, seasoned with the house seasoning, added all of the chicken to the egg/hot sauce mixture, and then dredged the chicken pieces in the self rising flour. I cooked the pieces in my little deep fryer in about three batches for about five minutes per batch. KFC and McDonald's have nothing on these chicken nuggets! My 13 year old son said, "Mom, you're awsome!" :

i've tried several recipes and this is the best. battering with the sauce before frying may be the trick. thanks for a great dinner! works great in a pan! also I used crisco.

This was AWESOME. I LOVE salty foods, but next time I might cut back a little bit on the salt in the breading mix. Two big huge enthusiastic thumbs up for this one!!!

Thank you Paula Deen!! This recipe was easy and delicious. I had to change 2 things due to the lack of necessary ingredients in my house. I didn't have peanut oil, so I subbed vegetable oil. ( I think the peanut oil would have been better. Also, I didn't have self rising flour so I subbed all purpose. Even with those changes, my chicken was flavorful, crispy and not nearly as greasy as anything you would get at a fast food place. Next time I do it I will follow the recipe to the letter and I bet it will be even better than it was tonight!

All I can say is YUM!!! I took all the skin off the chicken, and soaked in buttermilk and Franks Red Hot sauce. Did the rest per Paula's recipe. It was delicious beyond words. Thank you, Paula!!

I love the flavor, I have confident on Paula Deens recipes.. The flavor was great, I prefer this over store bought powder stuff... but one problem, how do I keep the coat from flaking off the chicken, did I overturn them too much... I even eat the crusts that fall off the chicken, in the pan <3 tx Paula : delicious
