We've had this dish with ribs, roast chicken, and cajun catfish. All of them went just perfect.

We tried this as written and loved it. We also tried it with the cheddar cheese mixed into it before bakeing and it seems to turn out better and holds it's cut shape. We even went as far as putting in some jalapenos one time and some krispy bacon bits another time.

I grew up in Laplace, located in one of the River Parishes in Louisiana. Red beans were and are a given on Monday - so, I "know" good red beans! Tyler's recipe is right on the mark, except I use more celery. I have no idea how he received one star from two people. As far as no taste, maybe the reviewer followed some other recipe. And the vinegar comment - WTH?

My future son-in-law loves spicy food, and my daughter had a ham bone leftover from Easter, so I recently made this recipe (as well as the accompanying Smothered Pork Chops, and we all just raved about the whole meal! Thanks for these super recipes! Karren in Baltimore (formerly of Texas

I love this recipe! I never really knew what all to put in my beans to add flavor other than chile powder. Thanks, I will definately make this one again!

This recipe was super easy to make. I love southern foods but am from the north west and a very inexperienced cook. Try this one!
