My 90 year old Sicilian mother said this is how she remembered it from her childhood...............like so many of Giada's receipts. Carlo

Top 5 recipe on this website! It is SO easy and it tasetes SO complicated. It is perfect, change nothing!!
Spend 2 bucks more on a real good spaghetti and make sure that it is slightly undercooked when you add it to the sauce/clam mixture so that it soaks up all the delicious flavors!

I made this with Anne Burrell's foccacia recipe, it makes a great combination :

Wow!! Giada, I have to say I thought with these simple ingredients it would be not this great, we really loved it, the combinations with the butter really made it taste like I was dining in a restaurant. Thank you

Love this recipe. Have made it a few times now. I love this dish with a little bit of heat so I add 10 cloves of garlic (using my favirote microplane zester instead of 6, and also add a teaspoon of chilli pepper flakes along with the garlic. I also up the olive oil up to 3/4 a cup, as well as the wine, and add 2 more Tb butter at the end. I just love extra sauce so thats why I upped the quantities a little. Don't forget to add 1/2 teaspoon or so of salt at the end, as well as a lot of freshly ground pepper. This is a minimialist dish - so fresh ingredients as well as adjusting the seasonings to how YOUR family likes it, is key!

This is a great, easy recipe to make and it is delicious. I sauteed the shallots and garlic and let them sit for awhile to really flavor the oil. When the family finally arrived, I just picked up from where I left off. Nothing was left but the THANK YOU.

Such a delicious recipe and so easy to make. I used fresh littleneck clams from the farmer's market and Pinot Grigio wine which was wonderful in the recipe and to drink with the meal. We're real garlic lovers, so next time I will increase by a couple of cloves. As good as you can get in any restaurant!

we omitted the spaghetti and used a round hard bread with garlc baked into it from Trader Joes to soak up the sauce. We also added shrimp, mussels, scallops and red pepper flakes. It was very flavorful.
