I was skeptical about this dish for several reasons, including the fact that I never like my mom's Au Gratin Potatoes very much. Besides, the cabbage seemed weird. But, oh oh oh, it was delicious. I made it for my family and they loved. Will definitely make again.

While I tasted the cabbage and bacon, that was great by itself. The whole dish was wonderful; however, next time I probably won't add any salt, since the bacon had plenty.

I have made this recipe many times for family parties and it's always a big hit. Of course I tweek it a little to fit my family's taste. It takes a little time to create this dish but the end result is always amazing.

This dish earned its five stars because my family--including my foodie of a sister-in-law ;- --raved when we served it with smoked ham at Christmas. It's fairly simple to prepare but it really made an impression! It was only my second time making it, so I was quite pleased that everyone really enjoyed it. The layer of cabbage and bacon was a welcome little surprise that everyone loved!

I found it a good dish, but not a great dish. Easy to make and came out correctly. But the dish seemed to lack something, for me and my family it just seemed to lack a distinct or bold flavor.

You take the rest of cornbeef of Irish dinner and make it a dish of love. I did the cornbeef and carrots of a boiled dinner and did as usual but did the potato and cabbage in this dish. And I did on company. My company went home with whatever leftovers of this dish there was. It is a heart attack waiting to happen but if you do on special occasion it won't kill you. I just wish I had a mandoline when I did. It is on the xmas list.

I made this dish three times this Thanksgiving and all of which I got great rave from people who had it. Unfortunately, I can't say how good it is as I didn't taste the finished product for myself knowing how much fat was in it. Making it made me full as it is, because of how rich it is - a slab of bacon, 2 1/2 cups of cream and 1 cup of parmesan!!! In any case, I trust the feedback from people who had it, as I was asked to make it for one of them and got paid for it even. That tells you something about how good it was. Just a little bit too rich for me!
