I really liked this recipe; however, I like it really spicy so I added more hot sauce (Franks and some cayenne pepper to the shrimp part of the recipe AND to the rice recipe. I goofed and covered the shrimp so it didn't get to cook down like it should have but regardless it was still delicious. The salsa was a little too oniony, so next time I will decrease the size of the onion.

Just like the Italians use gremolata to freshen up long cooked foods, so does the salsa freshen and lighten the texture of the rice and shrimp. This was spectacular! Even the picky teenager liked it!

This recipe had the perfect amount of spice. I did use slightly less beer in the shrimp though, it really need the entire bottle. It was great for a fast meal, husband loved it!

We enjoyed this at home even more the next day when the spices had even more of a chance infuse the dish. Wasn't super crazy about the raw veggies on top, but everyone else seemed to like it. I would personally prefer the veggies cooked into the dish. But whatever....will make this again anyway.

My husband and I made this together. I did not have any hot sauce so I used a couple of shakes of cyanne pepper. It was very good. My husband just LOVED it! I would definitely make it again.

I made this tonight for my husband & I. I used Newcastle to braise the shrimp in because it is one of our favorite beers. I wasn't sure I was going to like 'beer as a sauce' but it turned out tangy, spicy & delicious. I doubled the garlic (but only added extra to the rice. The cool crisp salsa gave the meal an interesting texture (love the crunch. I think next time I will try brown rice. Not my most favorite recipes of Rachel's, but definitly a good for a week night supper.

I made this dish tonight after getting an ice chest full of fresh shrimp! I really enjoyed the shrimp braised in beer and liked the rice as well, although I found the rice to be underseasoned when following the recipe. The salsa was a bit much with all the celery, but I would still make this again, just adjust a little to my liking.

Fantastic. One of Rachael's best. Not so hot that you'll need a gallon of water, but keep an extra towel handy to wipe the ol' brow.

This was such a unique and fresh recipe for us! We enjoyed the spice and fresh salsa flavors. A great meal to be enjoyed outside in the evening air!
