This was a delicious recipe. I made it with a moose roast that I had and it was superb! The moose is very, very lean and needs lots of moisture from other ingredient, and this recipe fit the bill. I actually used a shallot in place of one of the onions - worked out very nicely.
    Well done to the creators!

After finishing up with cooking this stew, the juice had a watery consistency. It was an easy fix, though, I just added some flour to thicken it up. Otherwise, we LOVED this, even though I put a little too much seasoning in.

Great recipe since this is pretty much the way I've always made it except for the lemon slices. Verry, verry good! I served it with a pan of sweet yellow cornbread! MMM-MM! Maria, Sebastian, FL

My son loved this and loved the name. I told him it was Cowboy stew.

I tried this last night and my husband and I thought it was wonderful. It was easy to prepare, too.

I agree with Jen from FL that the recipe has too much sugar. I made it with 2T and that was fine! This recipe makes so much stew that there was enough for my family and to share with 2 other families!

I am a college student, so trying to find time to cook a meal is hard. This was an excellent recipe. It was easy and delicious. We finished the whole thing that night. I recommend this to anyone who wants a great stew for a cold night.

The real surprise is the inclusion of the lemon slices. It adds a flavor that people can't quite put their finger on...unexpected and good. A very hearty dish.

My fiance is a very picky eater and usually likes either simple foods like BLT's or Bob Evans. He usually orders country fried steak from Bob Evans so I decided to try this recipe for him. He loved it a lot and even said it was better than the steak at Bob Evans!
