I've prepared this several times before from her recipe in "Barefoot in Paris" but I didn't have my cookbook handy yesterday so I printed the recipe from this website. However, the nuts burned up! I found my cookbook and compared, and the recipe on FoodNetwork says to heat them for 10 minutes at 375, but the cookbook says to heat 5 minutes at 350. I threw the first batch away and prepared a new batch at 350 for 5 minutes and they were as perfect as always.

AMAZING! They were the perfect combination of sweet, spicy and savory. I couldn't stop eating them. My guest, who dislikes cashews, commented that she couldn't stop eating them too. I followed the recipe exactly and even with the cayenne pepper, it was not too spicy for those who don't like spice. I will definitely be making them again!

Made these for a cocktail party and they were a big hit. Adults, kids, everyone liked them. They have only mild heat, andn are not spicy. People were surprised by the rosemary, and the unexpected collection of flavors. I doubled the recipe and the nuts were gone by the end of the night. The spices/butter/sugar coat better when the nuts are warm, however, they taste good warm or room temp. Highly recommeded!

I made these as an appetizer for a small dinner party. One of the guests has recently been diagnosed with pre-diabetes so she is conscious of eating too many carbs. Even though the recipe has brown sugar, I was hopeful that she would find them 'allowed' on her eating plan. She loved them! While I made them the same day I served them, I thought they were even better the second day (and I was secretly glad there were leftovers. Loved the rosemary! Since I couldn't find unsalted roasted cashews at the time, I omitted the salt called for in the recipe, but would add just a touch next time. I will likely be making these for hostess gifts or holiday gifts. So easy, so yummy - you just can't go wrong. Thank you, Ina!

If I show up at a party without these nuts- people get upset. Do yourself a favor and mix the butter with the heated cashews BEFORE you mix in the other ingredients. Sometimes unsalted cashews are hard to find unless you hit Whole Foods or Fresh Market. I consistently find them at Walgreens and CVS. The unsalted nuts + kosher salt does make a difference. Don't bother trying to do this with cashews that are already salted.

Must serve warm... great great app for a wine and cheese party.
Suggestion for a long party.. keep them in a slow cooker on low...
I even made them for Christmas Gifts...

these are just great. I gave some as holiday gift - noticed the scotch and wine drinkers were particularly ga-ga over them. I added a bit more brown sugar to match the heat.

I was not too happy with the outcome of this recipe! I was disappointed because I was actually looking forward to making this one. I followed the recipe exactly, except that I added a little less salt and cayanne (family doesn't like spicy food than what it called for. They still felt a little TOO salty and I thought they didn't really have any flavor. I don't think any of my guests really enjoyed them either because they didn't eat them at all! I won't be making this recipe again.

I have been making these for years, they are delicious . . always a hit. The only modifying I do is, some crowds like spicier so I will increase the cayenne pepper. You wont be disappointed !!!

Don't need to say much more than that. Excellent recipe. Try to leave some for your guests and family...it is easy to eat the entire bowl by yourself!
