My wife and I had Hoecakes at "Lady And Sons" and begged for take home. They never made it home.

The ones I made from your recipe were almost as good as the ones served in the Lady & Sons. Thanks for sharing.

Great Job Paula. This wonderful excellent. I am from North Carolina and this reminded me of my southern roots. My mother use to cook me something similar to this recipe.
You are wonderful and I really enjoy your show. I get to see it in Naples, Italy too. THANK YOU!!!

This was my 1st time hearing of and making these delicious Hoecakes..I used the Jiffy cornmeal mix as I couldn't find "self rising" cornmeal mix..They came out GREAT. My husband actually asked for more which is rare because he doesn't like cornbread.

This recipe is again perfect and easy! I cooked and they turned out wonderfully! I cooked it with creamy eggs, and it was delightful. Thank you Paula for making cooking FUN and DELICIOUS! I don't even want to go to another restaurant when I can cook like this at home. Thank you so much!

These hoecakes are light and tasty. I just finished a batch and have some turnips and hamhock simmerin' in the pot, just waitin' to marry them up.I can't keep My boxer dog Sammy from the counter top.

Delicious alternative for breakfast, however, next time I'll serve eggs in addition. "Clarified" butter worked just fine for me. Also, try warming your maple syrup in the micro, yum!

I was in Savannah over the weekend and dined at Paula's restaurant---Lady and Sons--. We were served hoecake with syrup as one of our breads. I decided to look up her recipe as soon as I got home. And I found it. Now I can hardly wait to try it. They are delicious. I love Paula's recipes. Pat from Raleigh, NC
