This is very chocolatey and very rich like most said. I was confused at first b/c the "frosting" is very thin but I realized it is supposed to be like that. The frosting is a little grainy b/c of all the sugar but it melts when you pour it over the hot cake and its not really an issue. The whole thing tastes just like the inside of a molten lava chocolate cake.

I made this one night for my family and they loved. If you're looking for something light this isn't it. This recipe is very rich and decadent. It's absolutely delicious in moderation. I did not have any problems with the recipe everyone loved it including me.

I have been making Mississippi Mud Cake, and different incarnations, for years. This, by far, is THE BEST EVER! I'm not sure I understand the negative reviews. It IS sweet... of course! It IS chocolatey... of course! My family loved it... my co-workers loved it... I loved it! If you're looking for a rich, chocolatey dessert... this is just the thing for you! If you're looking for something else... keep looking.

II do not know where to start! This cake is easy to make but I would never ever make it again. The coco taste was horrid and the frosting was very gritty like the sugar didn't dissolve a bit. I had a little taste to end up being very very very dissatisfied, I sent it to my husbands work and they wouldn't touch it after having a sample. The reviews were less than complimentary. Dont waste your time w/ this one.

Mine turned out gritty too, after looking at the reviews, I'm glad it wasn't something I did wrong, BUT I do have a solution...PAULA can YOU come & cook it for me so it's perfect?! LOL

i thought the cake was ok, but the icing was way too grainy! i would just make the cake next time (not the icing or marshmallows.
