Should not put nonedible items on or in food. A child might mistake the "pears" for food and choke.

Actually, marshmallows are kosher. Or at least some of them are.I don't have a bag right now or I'd give the brand name, but the ones I buy at the regular grocery store say Kosher/Parve right on the bag.
