So simple, but so satisfying! Even if you aren't a big cabbage eater (I'm not, you will love this recipe. It is deceptively good.

Simple and solid - I added some garlic powder at the end to give it a bit more flavor

I used a tad more butter since the head of cabbage I had was a little larger, and also thinly sliced a small yellow onion in with the cabbage, it was excellent! More work than simply boiling it, but the taste and texture is soooo worth it!

I don't think I will be boiling cabbage ever again! This is that good. So simple and light. This turns a boring, cheap vegetable into something totally amazing. We will be having this on a regular basis. Love you, Ina!

This was great. Dead simple and surprisingly delicious. I sauteed a thinly sliced onion in the butter, but otherwise all the same. Served with a sauteed pork chop and homemade applesauce.

Modified by using olive oil and adding one red onion which I thinly slice and caramelized before adding the cabbage to the pan. I waited on the salt until near the end.

A great way to cook cabbage - BUT WATCH THE SALT! First time I followed her recipe precisely and it was WAY too salty - my tip is use unsalted butter (as per the recipe then add seasoning slowly to taste - as a previous poster mentioned, Ina really does have a tendency to heavily over salt in many of her recipes. Anyway, I cooked it again with less salt and it was delicious! Will definitely try some of the suggestions other posters made too.
