I'm sure this rum raisin rice pudding is great. I just have never gotten around to adding the rum and raisins, because the recipe is so good without them. I add a little cinnamon at the end and have a delicious, traditional rice pudding with the perfect taste and texture; just like the fancy deli rice pudding I loved as a kid.

This was amazing. Didn't use the rum and added a bit more raisins. Oh my gosh it was good!

Great recipe! Followed the cooking instructions to the letter. Did a couple of small modifications. I soaked the raisins in the rum over night. Also, I made sure to temper the egg (so that I wouldn't end up with scrambled eggs in my pudding. I prefer my pudding nice and thick so I used 2/3 cup of half and half in the end versus a whole cup. Since I love vanilla, I added a little extra and added some Saigon cinnamon as well. Absolutely wonderful!

What an amazing rice pudding!!! I didn't have rum, so I used Jack Daniels. It was outstanding. I was amazed at how creamy and rich this pudding was, especially, with all the liquid used, but it surely worked.
I watch Ina at least 2 times a day and have most of her shows memorized.

I didn't get to read all of the reviews, but I used half coconut milk, and the half & half. I also used coconut rum in the raisins. Delish!!!!!
Thanks Ina for all the inspiration!!!

I have been trying to make rice pudding for 26 years, it is my husband's favorite dessert and have never been able to make it like he likes it. He LOVED this!!! I made it without the rum, but it was still wonderful. Thank you Ina.

What a surprise - I've never made rice pudding before - and when I poured 4 cups of milk into the rice - it was rice soup! I never would have guess it would evaporate down like that and thicken up... and it was really wonderful and creamy - I only had 1 cup of 1/2 and 1/2 - so the other 4 cups I used 2% milk - and it tasted so rich.... so don't be concerned about using regular milk - it's still just great! Ina - your recipes are great - and I make them over and over again!

Pennskitty: part of Ina's grace and charm is that she focuses on the issue at hand. FN's hyperlinks have nothing to do with this rocking recipe. Take a clue from Ina.
