Wonderful !!! I tweaked these a bit, replacing the raisins with Craisins,it addds a nice vibrant color! I also add 1/8th cup of white chocolate chips and 1/4 tsp of almond extract. OMG so good !!

Easy to make- I pre- measure the dry ingredients, label which wet ingredients to add then store it in the fridge, first time I made them and they came out great- but I only got 9 instead of 12 from this recipe- guess I made them a little big!

These scones were soft, moist and delicious. The recipe is so easy to follow that I can make it anytime on a whim. There have been times where I used regular milk instead of buttermilk and they have come out just as yummy. I also alternate between raisins and craisins. Personally I like the craisins in them the best. I have made these scones as housewarming gifts, and also as hostess gifts. I usually put them in a cloth-lined wicker basket along with a bottle of strawberry preserves and they have always been a hit! Thanks Paula Deen :

I use 1 stick of butter flavored Crisco insead of butter and add 1/4 teaspoon of
nutmeg. I also plump the raisins in boiling water for a few minutes before adding. Everyone (even young kids that I've served these to love them.
    THANK YOU PAULA!!!

These were really easy to make. But there was nothing special about them, they were just ok.

Paula, Thanks for the recipe. This is the 2nd time I've done it and just love how they turn out. I put extra raisins this time and everyone LOVED them. Made 100 for a tea today. They are so easy to make and I added cinnamon which made them even more flavorful. Thanks again Paula. I plan to make these a lot more.

My daughter made these scones and they were very rich and buttery - great with clotted cream and strawberry jam!
