I found this recipe years ago and now make them annually. They are one of my favorite Christmas cookies. They are fantastic.

My daughter, Terah Natasha (adopted from Russia is celebrating her 8th birthday next week. She plans to dress for school in a traditional russian outfit and bring a "russian" treat. These are perfect - can't wait to try them! Thanks!!

My son had to do a recipe from a country his family came from and he chose these teacakes. I will say I had my doubts. Being of Russian decent, I had actually never had these. And when I saw how little ingredents it took, I wasn't sure. But oh wow!! They were so light, and yummy! I will be making these again this year for his Fall party!

I don't have ready access to candied cherries, but I used dried cherries I reconstituted in a little Kirsch. Also, I prefer this recipe with blanched, toasted almonds. Great Christmas cookie!

These were very tasty and very easy to make! I did not have candied cherries available, but I did use maraschino cherries (I let them dry on a paper towel before using, and they came out beautifully.

If you love Russian Tea Cakes you will love these. They are particularly holidayish only because you add the candied cherries. I always thought the plain ones were perfect for Christmas...now I make both.

I watched this show today and Gale said nothing about baking this cookie twice- you roll in powdered sugar twice- I have not made these yet but wanted to add that for people who may have missed the show- they looked great.

I love the sound of these because of the cherries. But, are you really supposed to bake these cookies twice? I have made cookies similar to these (sans cherries in the past. I rolled them in sugar twice, but baked them once. Could that be a typo?

The actually cookie taste & texture is very delicate, and it balances perfectly with the suger glaze on the outside.
