I used a bit of bacon and fried with sausage and then instead of buying a sack of pre shredded cheese, in order to be more sustainable, just shredded some monterey, cheddar and threw in some velveeta...wow!! Low sodium stock and it was fanastic...still some leftover for tomorrow!!

I must say Iwas not expecting this to beat grandma's. My family is from the south so they use the cheddar, the elbows etc. I made this last night for my family and they were fighting for the leftovers. Ithink we have a winner and i don't think i will make it grandma's way again. Thanks so much for another delish recipe.

A winner from the entire family. I subsituted beef smoked sausage as I have a couple who do not like italian, and it turned out great. I served it with a spinach salad and french bread. Absolutely fantastic. We have enough left over for another meal. I suspect this dish would serve 6-8 easily.

This is a really fantastic combination of flavors and ease of cooking. I have been known to use a chopped green pepper and another can of tomatoes (as others have mentioned -- the flavor is slightly altered, but good variation. And adding veggies is always good : I also use spicy sausage -- sometimes up to 1.25 lbs and more mushrooms.... just a terrific crowd pleaser.

This is so very, very good. My son loved it so much the first time he had it. He wants me to make it more often. I think next time, I will use two cans of the tomatoes. I think it's a whole lot better with more tomatoes.....oh, and lots of cheese too. For that person who said it's bland, I don't think that it is. But if it's bland to you, then season it well. That should solve your problem.

I have been making this recipe for a couple of years and I just now figured it was time to let everyone know. I really do love this recipe and it never fails to be a huge hit. My husband even said last night that this is by far his favorite thing I make. It is also very easy to make for friends because you can make it ahead of time and then take it to their house and just heat it up (perfect for new moms, pot lucks, etc.. Huge flavor and creaminess. I'm getting hungry just thinking about it.

My family LOVED this recipe. It was just as quick and easy to make as it sounded. It wasn't very good leftover, so invite someone over to help eat it.
