I've made this several times and always with excellent reviews from our guests! I was freaking when I couldnt find it under the mufaletta search for this year 's our Super Bowl party. Thank God I found! Its a must try if you want major compliments! All's well now on the muffaletta side, now to find my jambalya recipe....

I served this as an appetizer at our Christmas party and everyone loved it, even the kids. It is also beautiful to look at! I made it in the morning and wrapped it up and kept it in the fridge until we were ready - it was even great the next day. I did hollow out the bread (a little too much but just pressed it down and it was really delicious.

Was really craving a good Italian sandwich, and this really hit the spot. I'll add some hots next time.

This was really really good. I will definitely make this again. Next time I might add some pepperocinis or sliced onion and roasted peppers might be good too. I also think this would be good for a party or potluck - make it on long chiabatta bread and then cut into slices. YUM!

This sandwich was everything italian yet easy. All of the ingredients were easy to locate in the local stores. The end result was a mix that makes you want stand up and shout. The leftovers for lunch the next day at work were even better. This is now a regular in my meal planning and one I share with friends when suggestions for something different come around. Thanks Rachel for sharing this one.

I recently served this at a picnic. It was a great hit. It made feel like I was in New Orleans again. I substituted the giardinera with a olive salad mix found at a local italina deli. We'll be making this again!
