I've made these a few times for just myself and my boyfriend as an appitizer and we love it. Now everytime the asparagus is in season my boyfriend makes sure we pick up a package of prosciutto with them.

The salty prosciutto makes the additional salt called for in the recipe unneccessary.

I roast the asparagus for about 7 minutes. I then cool it and I wrap two or three spears with a piece of Swiss and prosciutto (I wrap them from right before the tip to the end before I drizzle with olive oil and sprinkle with parmesan cheese.. I bake until the swiss cheese is starting to melt. I can never make enough. They are so good.

I've always tossed the asparagus spears in olive oil and balsamic vinegar and fresh cracked pepper (no salt before roasting. Roast them for about 8 mins. till they're crisp tender. Wrap with prosciutto and dust with grated parmesan. I only use Prosciutto di Parma so it's not too salty. One of my favorite apps and really easy do-ahead.

I wrapped a piece of swiss and baked it all together. My super picky extended family who are all food snobs loved it so much they didn't even leave a wrap for me!

I have used this recipe at the firehall for years and it is great. Now the only thing I do different is when I wrap with the prosciutto I put a piece of motzerella cheese in with it. Sorry also I don't cook it first either. Just wrap it with the cheese in and bake for 10-15 min at 375. Although guys at the hall will eat anything, they say this is one of my best!!! Good Luck
