My family has never had trouble eating asparagus but when made this way - it disappears so fast. The only addition I made was to drizzle the wrapped asparagus with balsamic vingegar.

No need to cater appetizers or side dishes to impress a discriminating crowd. This dish is just as pleasing to look at as it is to eat. If you can boil water, you're in business. Try half the spears with with toasted walnuts for your vegan friends. Grazzi Giada!

We took two and three asparagus and wrapped them, then used them as a side dish instead of the appetizer. It went over well with our guests.

I liked this for its uniqueness and the unusual presentation at the meal. I used it with the antipasto verses as a side dish.

I followed the recipe exactly...and it was superb! This recipe gives a whole new meaning to asparagus. Roasting the spears with olive oil gives the flowered ends a very nice crunch...and taste. I will continue making these little guys quite often...and their so healthy! Thanks Giada!

I made these 3 times over the holidays to take places because they were so easy, attractive and tasty! We also thought they were a little salty from the meat, so after the first time I didn't salt the spears, and added a little squeeze of fresh lemon juice.
Also, I used slightly defrosted/frozen thin asparagas spears and they were the perfect size (3-4". My guess is they wouldn't have seemed as salty with bigger spears, but I had these on hand and I liked the size appetizer they made using 3-5 spears each.
My kids loved them too!
Thank you for the great recipe!

I used bacon instead of prosciutto b/c the prosciutto over here is way too expensive. The asparagus still turned out great and it was a hit with my family!

This came together just lovely. They looked gorgeous but were a little salty for most of us. The meat is salty enough. No need to salt the sprigs.

Thought this was easy and delicious. ALso thought the asparagus was perfectly done. I might try adding some puff pastry next time - YUM!
