For something that is extremely heavy and fattening, it was completely bland. I'm a little pissed. If I'm going to splurge on a big meal that racks up a bunch of calories, it better be damn good. After added a little salt, it was a bit better, but still altogether...flavorless :(

My 12 year old daughter made the sauce and I cooked the ravioli, it came out fantastic. It was so easy to make, but it tastes like something you would order at a fancy italian restaurant. My husband like the pine nuts, but said he'd prefer them chopped up a bit. I will definitely make this again! Thanks Giada!

We had salad and bread for dinner. Threw this dish out after one bite. Greasy and unappetizing. Flavor was bland. I make many recipes from Bobby Flay, Emeril, Rachael Ray and Paula Deen with great success. I have never made one of yours that I liked. Will stay with the other shows for my future dinners.

Greasy and flavorless. Very fattening, even with cutting the butter in half. Will not make again, although it was very easy to do.

I saw this recipe done by Giada on TV..and thought it was just crazy with the nutmeg. I'm one for always trying new things, and mixing new flavors. I have to say, this is very good. I would maybe try and cut the butter and half, and use half olive oil? It is a very earth, deep, woody flavor with the nutmeg and the toasted pine nuts. If I were to make this at a party, I would only do it as a 'pasta bar' dish. I wouldn't want this to be the main course. Its too much for a main course I think..and a bit fattening..your guests might not enjoy!

This dish has made me a fan of Giada's. My whole family loved it! Simple, tasty and quick. It took less than 20 min. to get it on the table. Loved the combination of crispy basil, pine nuts and parmesan. Used grilled chicken and cheese raviolis from Sam's Club and it turned out great!

The ravioli were fantastic until I drenched them with this heavy butter sauce. Although I am certain this recipe turned out exactly as it should have, it was SO rich and heavy. Straight up, there was just too much butter. My boyfriend disliked it so much that called my attempt at dinner a failure. Sorry, Giada. I won't be making this one again.

i think that the dish was good enough w/o the butter parmesan sauce if you bought good ravioli. i had a pool of butter sitting at the bottom of my plate when i was done. the fried basil was pretty good however, had a chewy sort of texture. and of course, toasted pine nuts are always good. if it weren't for frying the basil, i'd reduce the amount of butter definitely by more than half and just use it to gloss over the raviolis. and i just simply do not understand how some people perceive this dish to be healthy??? lol.

Very easy and a great recipe when you have lots of fresh basil.
