These were too nasty for me. The rosting was bitter. I ended up only cooking them for 20 minutes as they were done at that time, but they were dry, and had almost no taste. Again--2 thumbs DOWN.

I have been absolutely thrilled with all the Stella recipes up until this one. The soy flour over powers the chocolate and gives the dessert a strange, sandy texture. If I try this again, I'll substitute, using all almond flour and cut the cooking time by at least 5 minutes.

Nasty, I tasted the recipe as I made it, it was good up until the soy flour, they made this recipe so gross. And I know it was the flour and not the sugar, because then I made a regular sugar version of the recipe and it tasted gross too. So stay away from the soy flour...tastes like play doh. But the frosting was good.

I made this for my husband as his birthday cake without the walnuts since he doesn't enjoy nuts.
We both enjoyed it and it was easy to make with easy to find ingredients!

I thought these brownies were horrible! I made them to take to a work function, and ended up throwing them away and buying some low-carb snack bars. The aftertaste was horrible. Thank God I tried them before I took them into work! It would have been embarrassing. If you're really craving something chocolate, give in a little-- these weren't worth it!

I tried this recipe because I have friends that cannot tolerate wheat, I did not use oat/wheat bran for dusting instead I used cocoa powder. I also used my own frosting recipe. The batter is gross (I like to lick the spoon, but the soy flour taste bakes out. I was scepticle but now I crave this once in a while.

These 'brownies' were just plain horrible. That soy flour that he calls for in the recipe gives the brownies a really strange aftertaste. For all of the effort to save carbs, this isn't worth it. I'm seriously beginning to have doubts about George Stella and the low-carb diet in general.

We were looking for something to curb that chocolate craving and this was not it. I too wish I would have read the reviews before going out and buying the ingredients. We were disappointed and will not be making these again.

I think if I had been low-carbing for a long period of time and hadn't seen any sweets in about 6 months or longer then this might be more appetizing. Who knows, maybe even after time I might be able to get used to it, but on a whole this is just not anything worth the time and effort. I did detect just the slightest bit of the earthy, soy flour taste some of the above reviews mentioned but it wasn't enough to make any difference in the flavor. To me, the problem with this recipe is not with the flavor, but with the lack thereof.

Although the recipe is a little difficult, it was delicious. I have been doing low carb for 6 months, and having dessert is always nice! By difficult, I mean that several things had to be going at the same time. I felt like I needed an extra pair of hands. Enjoy the brownies!
