These were the worst brownies. We couldn't even choke one down. They were just terrible. Since I love brownies and most low carb meals, I may try to make them with some of my own changes and some soy powder instead. Thanks, but keep trying.

I WAS DISAPPOINTED WITH THIS RECEIPE AFTER TOTALLY LOVING THE LOW-CARB CHEESECAKE. I'D HAVE TO AGREE WITH OTHERS, VERY BITTER TASTE--EVEN AFTER I INCREASED THE SPELNDA. THEY WERE NO TEMPTATION WHATSOEVER.

George, you're a cutie, and I love ya, but, I made a few adjustments to your recipe, which is very good.
I replaced the wheat meal with almond meal (flour.
Replaced the soy flour with soy powder(carb free!
Replaced 1/2 cup 1 tablespoon of soy powder with almond meal (flour.
And, last, left out the baking soda.
I got a luscious flourless chocolate cake consistency. Topped with Carb Smart vanilla ice cream and a sliced strawberry, WOW!

Thank you for clarifying about the soy. When I licked the spoon, I was expecting sweet - not the taste nightmare of sitting in the middle of a soy field in Indiana eating raw soy beans...
I will remake with the powder - if I can find it - thanks for the tip!!!

I baked the brownies for 23 minutes, and the texture was just right. The flavor gets a B or a B-. Something wasn't quite right. I won't offer these to my clients (I'm a personal chef. The frosting is good, but I think a cream cheese frosting could also be good.
I'm not an expert baker, so I'll keep trying other recipes, rather than attempt to modify this one.

I liked the brownie part. I made these with wheat flour, too and they turned out great. But the frosting goes bad, gets very bitter after just a day. I won't make the frosting again. But I will make the brownie again!

I made the brownies the other night. I was suprised by the taste. I tried them while they were still warm and it didn't taste very good. The soy flour made them taste bitter. However, after I refrigerated them, they tasted great.
