I would like to say the brownies were below my expectations. They did not taste anywhere near the "real" thing. I would say the best part was the frosting. Sorry.

Loved the icing. I might add extra nuts next time. Will make again.

The way that this receipe was talked up on the show made it sounded like you couldn't tell the difference between a regular brownie and these, but you can. They are chewy, texture is good. The moisture is alright on the dry side. The taste is very "diet food" cardboard-like. Probably will not work with this receipe again. Thanks

After reading the previous reviews, I was skeptical about trying this recipe. However, I was craving chocolate like crazy. I love it, its not too sweet and have a wonderful consistency. I did notice an aftertaste when I put the frosting on, so I've been eating it without. My 6 year old and husband have almost finished off the batch I made this morning.

I made them over the weekend, and loved them. This one will be a keeper for me! No bitter taste at all, just nice and sweet.

Watched LF+LI yesterday and was facinated with how nice the brownies looked and I wondered how they would taste. I baked a pan today and while they aren't the gooey chocolate brownies I once loved but they are an awesome substitute in the lifestyle I now live. I didn't taste any bitterness except that that I expected from the chocolate and I didn't taste anything I would call a soy taste. My husband liked them so I will be making them again.

After reading the other reviews, I was really hesitant to try this recipe. But, after watching George and Rachel make it yesterday, I gave it a try. The batter tasted terrible so with much fear I baked the brownies. They tasted great!!!!!!!!!! I made the frosting but did find it a bit bitter which is why I gave it 4 stars instead of 5. All of George's recipes have been fantastic and this is no exception.

I am not locarbing because of weight issues. But I am a diabetic and these recipes have been a godsend. Thank you George!! This recipe was great the first time I made it but I like my desserts a little sweeter. So the next time I made it I added more splenda just to taste. I think it is better when you make it with SOY POWDER, and not soy flour. I find that when baking with chocolate and not using table sugar, the product comes out bitter given the bitter nature of unsweetened chocolate and soy flour. So, my advice is to use soy powder and add more splenda to your own tastes. Also, they have a chewier texture if you bake them a minimum of 5 minutes less. Remember, if you don't care for the original recipe, make it your own through trial and error. That is what baking is all about.

For all you low-carb fans out there, do yourself a favour and check out Suzanne Somers. She's been advocating, cooking, and eating like this for over 10 years. Her recipes are wonderful and she even sells good packaged mixes that you'd be proud to serve. Some are expensive, but she also has great books on how to make them from scratch. By the way, she uses no chemicals and bad ingredients. Check out her web site at www.suzannesomers.com
George has great recipes and I've made many of them, but check out Suzanne.
