These beans were great! I followed recipe exact. They were a hit at our bbq. This was the first time I have ever made baked beans besides opening the can and heating them up. They were ate so fast. Great and easy recipe. Thanks Sandra.

I was searching for a recipe for baked beans to go with our 4th of July BBQ and found this one on your website. Although I broke my own cardinal rule of "not preparing a recipe for a party that I have not sampled ahead of time", this one did not dissappoint. It is a simple to prepare crowd pleasing recipe that has become our go to side for all our "grilling gatherings". Needless to say we made them again on Labor Day. Thanks Sandra for such a great, easy recipe!

We throw a HUGE 4th of July picnic every year, and being that I am making several dishes for the day, having some that do not require a whole lot of pre-prep or lengthy cook times are god sends! Thank you Sandra for always being my "go-to-gal" for quick and delicious recipes that I know will be a hit! VERY tasty baked beans recipe, and hey, if you have the time, throw them in the oven for 1/2 hour on 300, this dries them out some if you like them that way!

I loved this recipe. I am glad that Sandra Lee has thick skin and despite the poor reviews by "food snobs" keeps coming up with great recipes and ideas for those of us that aren't able to make everything from scratch and spend hours a day in the kitchen. This recipe, like many i have gotten from her allowed me to spend time with my family, instead of in the kitchen, and tasted great. Thanks Sandra for all your great ideas.

KUDOS to Sandra Lee for this recipe!! It was a BIG HIT at the family reunion over the weekend. My teenage niece even asked for the recipe. Like most family "chefs," my table includes "from scratch" recipes as well as the go to time-saving recipes Sandra offers. It makes for a complete universe and saves me from EXHAUSTION!!! THANKS again Sandy!!!

I have very little confidence in the kitchen when it come to cooking but my husband (and others make me feel like I'm a real "cook" when I make these beans. They may not be "authentic" but who cares! They are easy to make - the crying while mincing the onions is the worst part - and smell up the house very nicely. I try to cut a little fat down by cooking the high fat bacon in the microwave and draining off most of the fat. Then using just a little bit of the bacon fat in the fry pan for the onions - which I like to mince/chop very small. I chop the bacon into bits and add back into the small amount of grease and onions then add the rest of my ingredients. I use regular brown sugar but add a diet root beer as another calorie sub. I'm trying to watch my weight and although this still isn't a fat free dish, just cutting a few calorie corners here and there helps a wee bit. I cook it in an open pot on the stove for a bit longer than an hour on very low heat and could probably put it in the crock if I wanted stirring very occasionally. Great recipe!

I think it's pathetic that there are people on here who would give this recipe 1 star rating just because "it's not authentic" or "it's not healthy"!!! GIVE ME A BREAK!

Sandra Lee's introduction to her show TELLS YOU that she uses her own little short cuts when preparing meals! So NO it's not going to be authentic!

And if the recipe contains a lot of fat then the reader should just create their own recipe! People are competent enough to make their own decisions on what they should eat and don't need some idiot to post on here and ruin someones ratings just to make a ridiculous point!

When I feel like ultra healthy food I watch fit-tv recipe shows but for a special occasion or a once/twice a week treat I tune into Sandra Lee!! I know her recipes are not super healthy but since I balance my life with fitness I can afford to have these awesome meals guilt free!! Happy=Healthy

I am a huge fan of Sandra Lee and her fun loving ways!!
