I don't think I overbaked them - they were nice and brown on the bottom, but they came out soooooo HAAARD! You could throw them against the wall and leave a dent in it!
They were also super tiny. I think a heaping teaspoon is a little small for each cookie.
I ended up tossing out the whole bunch and starting all over. Especially since they were for a gift. Instead, I made Giada Delaurentis' Chocolate Chip Hazelnut Cookies and they came out MUCH better!!
FYI - After making SO many different cookies now on the food network website now, I have found Alton Brown's The Chewy to be the best one.

Holy crap this are some good cookies!! I didn't have wheat flour so I just used all All-purpose flour and they turned out just fine. I also added 1/4 cup white chips and 1/4 cup dried cranberries. I baked them 7 minutes and then 5 minutes and when I ate one, it was so light and fluffy. I don't know if this will become my go-to recipe, but I will be making it often! Oh and I doubled the recipe and used an ice cream scoop and got 25 nice, big cookies!

Best chocolate chip cookies I have ever had. I also tried substituting butterscotch chips in place of the chocolate chips and the cookies were even better.

My husband loves cookies and particularly likes this recipe-think it is so funny that it is from Canyon Ranch as he is totally not a Spa food guy-although I'm not sure how many calories these have.

I was looking for a basic chocolate chip cookie recipe to make for my friends, and I stumbled across this one - they were easy to make, and taste great! I also like the unusual, and slightly healthier ingredients list. I did not have an electric mixer, so I just mixed everything using a wooden spoon, and the texture came out just fine. Great cookie base!

First I want to say I looked up the calories on these babies... and they only have 85 per cookie according to livestrong! That's pretty good compared to the usual 130 and up found in chocolate chip cookies. Also with the whole wheat and the low-fat cream cheese, these seem to really be a healthy alternative to you day to day chocolate chip cookies. That being said... these are delicious! Tollhouse comparable for sure! I rolled mine into balls before placing on cookie sheet, that way when you lightly flatten them (I did it gently with a spoon they take on a perfect cookie shape. I added 1/2 a cup of coconut as well and that made them over the top!!

I have made these three years in a row for our cookie exchange because I have never found a more delicious cookie recipe and believe me I have tried many. Instead of the canola oil, I used non fat cooking spray and that works fine. Everyone loves them and they stay soft for at least a week - I don't know about longer because they are always eaten up quickly! Try it, I don't think you will be disappointed.

quick question...why low fat cream cheese and not regular?? Is this a health/calorie thing or does it really make a difference?
