This recipe is so wrong it's crazy! It is not 10 minutes of work, it's the full 30. I would start with half the salt but all salts affect food differently. I ended up using a full tablespoon of Himalayan salt. I also sauteed a chopped green bell pepper, added a can of corn, black beans and chili beans. Instead of that chipotle thing I just added a teaspoon of chipotle powder. For beer I used Dos Equis. The changes made this very good. This was my second time making it since the actual recipe sucks. Basically had to throw it away.

I thought this was great. First off, it's extremely easy and that's always a nice touch. I took everyone else's advice and only added about a tsp of kosher salt and it's fine that way. I didn't have chipotles, so I used 2 T chili powder, 1 T Cayenne and about 1/2 T. ground cumin. I threw in a sweet bell pepper too and a T unsweetened baking chocolate powder. I only had black beans and not kidney. Perfect comfort food for a frozen Colorado day.

Very tasty, yes. I actually intuitively thought i should use half the salt bc its not good for anyone to use too much. After reading the reviews I am so relieved I did too:
My husband and I will be eating a yummy comforting meal tonight as the snow storm rolls in.
    Thank you!

I followed this recipe exactly and found that it was way too SALTY. Even if I were to reduce the salt the chili would be just OK. Not much depth of flavor for a chili recipe but what do you expect out of 30 minute chili. Won't make again...will look for another chili recipe.

I have been using this recipe for several years now and love it. I use half of the salt recommended and a full Tablespoon of chili powder. I also use a 28 oz. can of crush tomatoes instead of the 14.5 oz size recommended. Everything else stays the same as the recipe. My kids prefer more meat than beans so I usually double the recipe but only include one can of beans and that seems to work for us. The chipotle adds a great flavor and just the right amount of heat.

This is ALWAYS a hit when I serve it. Goes great with cornbread on the side as well as shredded cheddar and chopped scallions on top. Enjoy!

I make this chili all the time during the fall abd winter and it is one of our favorites. I don't ever use the chipotle en adobo and we still love the taste! My husband has people over all of the time for football games and it is really easy dish to whip up and is always a crowd pleaser!

Not a big fan of this recipe. I only used half the amount of chipotle and it was way too spicy for my family. Definitely do not recommend.

On my regular fall rotation for about a year now. I use black beans and beer on hand. Always a hit. Something about chili and football just go together.
