BEFORE YOU MAKE THIS--measurements are off!!!! (in my experience salt should be 1 teaspoon and Chili powder should be 2 tablespoons. This recipe has the opposite. trust me, 1 tablespoon of kosher salt is WAAAAY too much! and 2 tsp of chili powder just ain't enough. So, once you get that little issue out of the way, this is a winner recipe. Delicious and different. Everyone will ask what the 'secret ingredient' is... the beer makes it taste so rich and yummy. Great recipe. but heed seasoning warning, or you will have super salty not-so-chili chili :

Delicious! I Instead of whole tomatoes, I added tomato puree. I also added a variety of veggies and a little sweet sausage.

Quick and easy! Only thing, I wish it was more liquidy. I'm not a cook, I just follow recipes so I don't know what I could add a little more of or in addition to so it's more "stewier"....if that's a word....lol. But, definitely a keeper!

Very easy and quick to make on a weeknight. Good flavor. Nice way to zest up ground turkey.

We have been looking for a tukey chili for sometime and have finally found a winner!! At the beginning, I added a chopped green bell pepper and a chopped jalapeno. For a beer, I used a bottle of Boston Lager and black beans instead of kidney beans. Additionally at the end, I added a can of drained corn.

    Highly recommend this recipe!!

The beer gave the ground turkey a nice aroma and the Chipotle in sauce gave the dish a nice little kick but recipe is very salty! Also, its not very saucy at all. If there's a next time I may add a small can of tomato sauce and cut back on the salt. I will definitely lose the whole tomatoes and may use a different beer if I even use beer at all.

This was the first time I made a chili - ever. I was looking for a healthy chili with a little spice-heat, so this recipe was naturally a good choice to start with.

I was surprised how well it turned out even though it was too salty and the wifey was afraid to even taste it - her loss though :P

It wasn't as liquidy as a normal chili we might be used to, but this is a very hearty and healthy chili (minus the salt.
I used an AMERICAN beer - Sam Adams Boston Lager which gave a great flavor. I also used 1 and a 1/2 Chipolte Chili's for just a bit more added heat instead of only using just 1.

I will make this again but next time I will exclude the ingredient 'salt'. I won't cook the lager down as long and see if that helps with the liquid issue. I dont know if that is a good idea or not, but I'm willing to try that next time.

Considering my cooking skills to be low or non-existent and this being an easy recipe that oopsed on the addition or maybe the amount of salt, I decided to give it a 4 star rating. I believe this to be a good starter recipe for anyone in my cooking skills category who is looking to learn how to cook chili.

Thank you to the recipe author.

This chili was really good... I liked the chile en chipotle, it definitely gave the chili the slow cooked taste. Instead of using 5 tbs of salt, i just added more chiles and adobo sauce. I also used chicken broth instead of the Mexican beer since I didnt have any handy. In the end, the chili didn't have a a lot of sauce in it, so next time I'll put more chicken broth since I like my chili more saucey. But overall, this chili was tasty!!!!
