This is my family's favorite meal. Especially on a cold day. My sons are 7 and 11, they eat it like they may not get another meal.

I couldn't find chorizo in my grocery store so I substituted keilbasa and it was yummy. I think you could definitly make adjustments to this to suit your personal tastes. Add corn or black beans if you like.

Deelish!! My boyfriend and I were starving and wanted to make a quick soup- but one hearty enough to fill us up on this rainy day- this was it and it was GREAT!!! We followed the directions to the "t" and didn't change a thing. Soup was more like a stew (as the recipe says and the only thing I might do different is add a little more chicken stock. We'll definately make this again!

Great Soup and it was rather easy to make- although I added kielbasa (grounded it up in my new food processor it took me more prep time- just because I’m not a chef and I have a really small kitchen. I wanted to thicken it up so a puree some of the soup in my processor- figured it was not thick enough so I added 3 tablespoons of flour and a some instant mash potatoes (crazy, but it worked out. I added more hot sauce to the soup and let it simmer for about 2 hours. Next time I will make smaller serving since I had to freeze most of it- Great Soup and easy to make!!! Thanks Rachael for another home run

Another home-run Rachael!!! This was the perfect end to a cold, stormy fall day - a hot, steamy bowl of stoup with SOOOO much flavor. I questioned the recipe because there are no added herbs or spices, but I made sure to buy a good quality chorizo and it added just the right boost (along with the smokieness of the fire roasted tomatoes. I put lots of toppings on the table and it allowed everyone to add a little more of the flavors they wanted - cheese, green onions, cilantro, crushed tortillas, hot sauce and a sour cream-smoked paprika combo. What a hit - and PLENTY left over for lunch tomorrow.

Don't just sit there...get up and make this stoup!!! It's great. There's a bit of chopping, but that's just the way it is. I prefer to roast bone-in chicken breasts and shred them to use in most every recipe that calls for chicken. I had a bowl just as soon as it was finished and it was great...but it was even better the next day. I also used red and blue tortilla strips which are a little easier to handle than crushing full-sized chips. Yummy and perfect for cool fall evenings.

I read a good amount of the reviews when i stumbled onto this recipe and i decided i just had to make it. I added a couple of things just to make it extra hearty, mushrooms, white beans, corn and zucchini ( im a veggie lover! I let it cook for a few hours and it was absolutely fabulous! next time i will make two batches...seeing it when VERY quick the next day. Me and my boyfriend both brought it to work, and got rave reviews..A real winner Racheal. I love your recipes, keep em coming!!

I have this recipe in one of Rachael's cookbooks and love it. It is heartier than a soup and has a substantial amount of meat, which my husband loves. He often requests this stoup. I just make it as is, and it's wonderful!
