I made this soup for my office souper bowl luncheon and won 2nd prize! I'm not a big soup maker so I wanted something easy and this was it. I did have a problem finding chorizo sausage (that could be sliced, but the ground sausage worked great. Several people asked me for the recipe. I think I'll make it again for the real super bowl!!! Yummy, yummy, yummy, yummy.

Turned out PERFECT!!! Added some rice and black beans for some variety. It's easy to make but tastes like you've been slaving in the kitchen and slow simmering all day! MUST TRY THIS IF YOU HAVEN'T ALREADY!

This is an excellent recipe...even my husband who does not like Tex-Mex liked it.
A neat trick...add 1/3 of a bag of shredded mexican cheese blend (I used 2 % before you serve the stoup...
stir in and VOILA you have a low fat creamy rendition.

This is a family fave and now a family staple. They love it. Try subbing corn for the beans and adding sour cream and chopped avacado on top. It is wonderful

This stoup was perfect. It had just enought spice and is very hearty. My husband doesn't like beans, so I substituted 1 cup of lentils instead. It was still great!

This recipe was a hit even with my picky teenage kids. I substituted a can of black beans for the kidney beans.
