This was a fun and super easy recipe that I made with the kids; one helped with the dough and the other the filling. The ease was matched by the taste, which was great! We followed the recipe closely, except added a teaspoon of nutmeg to the filling. It worked well. Will make in summer when we BBQ.

An easy to do recipe I got confused and I put brandy instead of bourbon and it was really good. The crumbs were crunchy and it had a great buttery taste.

From now on, I'm going with what my "eyes" perceived from the food show. It's a great dessert with pork, so I'll use 1/2 cup MASA corn flour in place of a whole cup of the wheat flour. This will cinch the overwhelming crust a bit, affect the texture, while still giving it a rustic appeal. Crustier!

    Otherwise, super!

I was a little disappointed in this because I love all of Tyler's recipes. I agree with some other reviewers that there was too much topping. I used 8 cups of fruit and thought there should've been more for the amount of topping. This was underwhelming to me in the flavor department, but it might have been my personal high expectation of Tyler Florence's recipes. I will not make this again but instead look for a different recipe.

Huge hit with the fam. Made in the cast iron. Followed to T except did not use full cream mixed half with skim milk. Dont skimp on the whiskey it adds a depth of flavor but you wouldnt know it was there. Must serve with Vanilla Bean ice cream or homemade whipped cream. This is a rustic dish so dont fret about amount of toppings etc. Eyeball it and it will work great.

Made this with gluten free flour and it turned out fantastic. That's no small feat. I used Kinnikinnick brand flour. And expensive bourbon.
Like the others wrote, there was about half a cup too much topping. I baked the extra dough as cookies, which also turned out fantastic.
    All round delicious. YUM.

Way too much butter in this and the topping ended up just being cakey. Not worth all the effort, I should have just made Paula Deen's which I think would have given similar results with much less effort and butter.

I have to disagree with Megginayn_9687950. The bourbon makes this dessert! This is, by far, my husband's favorite dessert of all time. You have to use a good bourbon...that definitely makes a difference in the flavor. It's delicous and easy and a HUGE hit with everyone when we make this in my household.

This is not bad, just a waste of bourbon because you can't even taste it.

Simply delicious. I used frozen peaches which I thawed (two small bags but I don't remember the amount and I would have preferred more peaches. Easy too. A keeper.
