This was fantastic! Best collared greens I've made. It made hubby, 12 year old, 3 year old, and 1 year old happy! I substituted 1 cup of real bacon bits for the ham hock because I didn't have one on hand. I did add a pinch of crushed red pepper. Followed the rest of the recipe to a t. Thanks!

Loved the flavor and this made them easy and relatively quick to cook- I only have one suggestion. PUT YOUR BAY LEAVES IN A CHEESE CLOTH! Otherwise it's like trying to find a needle in a haystack.... After that, wonderful recipe and it will be used again!!

Very good recipe except it the cook time which says 35 minutes is really more like the 45 minutes called for in the recipe instructions. Use balsamic vinegar instead of sugar. It is a nice touch for this dish.

As a southerner growing up with my grandmother making the most out of this world collards, I was a bit skeptical to try this recipe. BUT.....these were fabulous! I also used a few slices of low sodium bacon instead of a ham hock and they were very tasty!

This was my first time ever making collard greens, and I must say not only was the recipe easy follow, but they taste was excellent! I used smoked turkey wings instead of the suggested meat and the flavor was still awesome. The simple seasoning was great. I was a little worried about onions and vineagar in the collard (as my family never used onion or vineagar, but it added great flavor. At the end, I added a small pinch of red pepper flakes for some subtle heat. This will definitely be my recipe for collards. This is definitely my "go to" collard recipe! Enjoy

Super delicious and simple to make. This was my first time. I used a a few slices of bacon instead of ham hock, because I didn't have one. Will for sure make again.

These are awesome greens! I have been using Tyler's recipe for green for years. Everyone who tries them, falls in love with them. Especially the folks who say they don't eat greens. Thanks Tyler for making me look good in the kitchen! They will be on the table Thanksgiving!

I have made collard greens many times . This collard recipe is wonderful. The nice touch is using chicken broth instead of water as the recipe calls for (recommend low sodium broth . It took my collards a little over 2 hrs to cook down properly . So prepare your self accordingly for the cooking time. It was a hit with the whole family . Will make again.

I thought these collards were great. It's the first time I've ever made collard greens on my own...ham hocks sort of freaked me out, so I used ham fat and a ham bone and I still thought the flavor was nice. Will definitely make these again! They even heated up nicely on day #2.
