There are few words that can be uttered after tasting this dish. Words like FABULOUS, FANTASTIC, DELICIOUS, HEAVENLY are simply underrated to describe this delicate blend of rustic Tuscan flavors. Being a world traveller and used to fantastic food and wine on a grand scale this meal was one that would definitely stop me from eating out again and again.

This easily tops my list for comfort food. I must admit that although my previous roasts have received rave reviews so many times in the past, this one will set a new standard. This has now become our favorite dish thanks to Giana. It will be especially great with a wonderful bottle of Cabernet (e.g., Sterling on Christmas or New Years or whenever you feel the need for a sensory journey outside your body. Giana - Thank you, Thank you, Thank you for this wonderful and most delicious gift.

My fiance loved the fact that it was easy to put together, it left her in 7th heaven and with alot of energy to chase me around the house afterwards (have to burn off all those calories!!

If you, the reader, has not tried this dish, you are really missing out. It really goes well with a consomme rice made with 1 cup of rice, 1 can of beef consomme, 1 can of water and 2 tablespoons of REAL butter all in a corning dish and in the oven with the Stracoto for the last hour. You will thank me later.
    ;-

Used this recipe to make pot roast for the first time. The recipe was VERY easy to follow and the porcini mushrooms along with the dry red wine make this pot roast an absolute winner! Will definitely keep this recipe to use again.

I loved the combination of beef with wine and mushrooms. It was very easy to make and we ate good for several days.I'll be on the lookout for more recipes from Giada.

This was probably one of the most easiest meals we have ever made. The roast was extremely tender and moist. The gravy with the rosemary added that flavor that sent it over the edge. Served with mashed potatoes and sweet corn, this meal moved up the chart in the "Must do again meal" in our household!!

Very easy to make. The hardest part was picking the wine to use. I used an Italian Red Wine.
The second time I made it I substituted Veg Stock for Beef Stock and added a 1/2 pkg of Au Jus with a tablespoon of sugar (Taste before adding you may like it robust. I also didn't find it necessary to puree the stock.
Can't wait to make it again. Great with Risotto or egg noodles.
    The Rosemary sets it apart.
