Great without the shrimp also. i used this as a side for grilled leg of lamb. Instead of the tomatoes, i substituted chopped yellow and red peppers. Plus I made an extra batch of the dressing on the side for the next day,,even better!

The first time I made this was part of the menu for a lakeside picnic for my mother's birthday. Delish!!! I'm making again today for a Lake Tahoe beach lunch with my friend tomorrow.

This is fantastic! Actually no need for the shrimp. As a pasta salad alone it's amazing but adding the shrimp is nice if you have them. I love Barefoot contessa's orzo with grilled vegetables and her tomato feta salad( I add cucumbers but this one may top them all. The dressing, instead if biting is creamy and delicious. Wow! Everyone went crazy for it! Oh I did cook the orzo in chicken broth, my only change. Definitely better the next day. I did try the barefoot contessa roasted shrimp with orzo and I loved that too. They are both great.

This is excellent. I substituted orzo with quinoa for a gluten free salad. Awesome! didn't have fresh dill, but dried worked fine.

This was amazing!! I cook about everyday and for lots of family parties and this really was a hit!! Wow bobby flay! I had tried Ina Garten's roasted shrimp orzo salad. It was not that good. So, this recipe being very similar I was nervous to make it. I used seedless cucumbers and peeled the skin off, easier to eat. I do love the grape tomatoes, it's better than dicing a whole tomato. It just fits with this dish perfect. I bought a brick of feta and just crumbled it by hand, but made it very tiny pieces, no chunks. I dislike feta, but man, in this dish it rocks!! I marinated the shrimp in evoo, lemon juice, kosher salt and pepper for about an hour. Grilled them. Let them cool completely, and I cut them into thirds. I used big tiger prawns. The only thing that I had to really change was the dressing.... I would do that dressing as the recipe states, but then add about a half a cup of evoo and red wind vinegar plus salt and pepper, whisked in a bowl and added to the dish.

i made this salad without the shrimp and while it was good, it was not a stand-out salad and more than likely will not make it again. I did not think it rated five stars. That being said, perhaps it is better with shrimp.

Delightful! Just made this for lunch and loved it! I had a box of orzo in the pantry. It made so much that I gave a nice portion to two neighbors knowing they would really enjoy it. The dejon vinagrette is so good - especially with sauteed shrimp. Was so quick and easy to prepare and surprisingly tasty. - Inexpensive too as I had most of the ingredients on hand and bought smaller shrimp on sale. This is a keeper for light dinners, easy girlfriend lunches and wonderful "leftover" for tomorrow (if there is any "left" "over"????.
