The bread was a huge success! It is so easy to make. I added some chopped garlic and a bit more beer to the original Neely's recipe. The smell of the baking bread filled the house...couldn't wait to taste it. When I cut a slice...it was perfection. Thank you Neely's for this great easy recipe!

Simple and tasty! Made it after seeing it on the show. Great addition to it is some chopped green chili's.

I have made it twice, it is very simple to make. The first time I made it with light beer. Everyone at my dinner party loved it. I toasted what was left the next day fabulous. The second time I made it I used an all malt ale beer I liked it even better. I make all my own bread and rolls. This is a winner.

After reading the first review I was surprised that it was actually quite good. A tad bit dry, maybe, but nothing that butter can't help! I did kick it up a notch by adding garlic. I also didn't have gouda, so I used Dubliner (and for the beer- guiness and substituted 6 T flaxseed meal for the oil to be a bit more healthy. The melted, crunchy cheese that was on the bottom was totally delish. I think next time I might sprinkle cheese on the bottom of the pan before I pour in the dough! I will make again!

I didn't have beer so I used white wine and it is very good. I think I'll try it with burbon or sherry. It rose very pretty and the spread goes really good with a hint of wine in the bread.
    very good
