Giada - you rock - but why would you make a marinara sauce without basil? I added that, plus sugar, and perfecto.

I usually make this for my home made pizza. It came out just as I've expected it to be!

I will never be intimidated by homeade sauce again. You're right, it's so easy a child could do it and it tastes great. You can also add some of your own favorite spices to it as well. I'll never buy canned again!

You will never want to buy your own sauce again. This is a simple recipe and you can freeze for later and it's just as great as the first day you made it. A must have to keep in your freezer!

This is a wonderful sauce that I will make again and again. I added a tsp. of red pepper flakes to spice it up a bit. Just a matter of personal taste; highly recommend.

This is a very basic marinara sauce. It provides a great base for your own personal touches. I loved it, this will be a staple in my recipe collection.

I like this recipe a lot for how easy it is, but I have to admit, I jazzed it up before I even made it the first time.

I added some Italian herbs and a couple shots of red wine (you may need sugar to balance it out, depending on the wine and how tart your store's brand of tomatoes is

That said, it came out very tasty with the additions. I agree with the others on the versatility of the recipe. Next time, I'm going to add some more vegetables and crumbled tofu (squeeze out all the water, of course for my vegetarian friends :
