Except for the honey, this recipe is very similar to Trader Vic's.

It was really good but a little sweet for my taste. I wasn't able to have more than a half a mug (so it made 8 servings. Next time I will try a little more rum and water for the same amount of sugar.

My husband and I are only special occasion drinkers and don't like the strong taste of alcohol in drinks so were a little wary since it's got a nice dollop of rum. This drink tastes absolutely delicious, super smooth and sweet. Recommend to everyone for a Christmas Eve toddy when it's cold outside and you're sitting around visiting with friends and family. Thanks for the recipe!

Several years ago Costco carried a prepared hot buttered rum mix during the holiday season that was from Alaska. I was amazing and we drank it every night that year during the holidays. I have been on the quest for it or another recipe ever since. This is it. So good and tastey! This will now be my go to recipe. By the way, I had to phone my sister this morning about it. She will be making it tonight!

We LOVED this! I forgot the powdered sugar and it was still great! We added a dollop of cool whip to the top and garnished with a small pinch of nutmeg. It was better than any batter I have ever purchased. Thanks for the recipe.

Has to be the best hot buttered rum drink I ever tasted. Is equally as good with non-spiced rum.

This is the best hot buttered rum ever. Not too spicy, not too sweet, very smooth and silky texture. And just the right amount of alcohol. Great for a cold night to relax and unwind with.
