These greens are similar to the way my Granny used to make em. Difference is we used fatback grease. She soaked, boiled with seasonings, drained, chopped the greens, and then sauted them in that grease in that order. I guess these greens are a healthier, upscale take on good ole turnip greens.

For somebody who had never had turnip greens before, i thought this was a tasty way to add some leafy greens to our diet.

my "go to" recipe for turnip greens. I do feel free to play w/ it adding crisp procuitto, a little bacon grease, a liittle maple syrup and apple cider vinegar; if i just want the plain greens and am concerned w/ the bitterness i will add a touch of nutmeg which helps w/ the over riding sharpness, bitterness in other vegs of this nature, as well, such as boiled cabbage. It will sweeten them if you only use a pinch and only a pinch.

Too spicy. Glad I used half the amount of red pepper flakes. Can't taste the flavor of the greens.

I served these at a BBQ and they were a huge hit. I also make them with spinach and cut the red pepper flakes, and they are delicious.

Found the turnip greens to be too bitter. I think they would be better using collard greens.

I had never tried turnip greens and decided to buy some at the store one day. I searched online and found this recipe. I LOVE IT! I actually mixed collard greens and turnip greens. The red pepper flakes give the greens a kick and the toasted pecans add a wonderful toasted crunch. Everyone should eat more greens!

I didn't like these greens at all. The greens need to be cooked more didnt care for the mustard taste it was just very wrong.

I really am not a vegetable fan, but in an effort to eat turnip greens - one of the healthier veggies out there - I tried this and found it quite likeable. If you are a spicy food fan I'd definitely recommend. It has some late heat to it! I also used spicy brown mustard instead of dijon mustard so that may have kicked it up a notch. I also varied the recipe by adding some shredded carrots in for color. Really liked that this greens recipe didn't call for oodles of butter!

I liked the idea of sauteing rather than boiling the greens. I think next tie iI need to cook a little longer, but was still really good
