This was to overpowering. I think the peanut butter was to blame. The recipe calls for hot sauce. I think maybe chili sauce would have been better. Well, I will try a few more recipes from her book before I rate her recipes overall.

Excellent, back off on the hot sauce though. You can also use brocoli slaw instead of cabbage.

This makes a large pan for a couple of meals. It is a simple and delicious recipe.

Before I made this recipe, I read and took some advice from some of the reviews. I began by making the sauce early in the day to let the flavors meld together. I added 1/4 cup brown sugar and a dash of garlic powder, to taste. I heated the peanut butter in the microwave and it mixed very well with the other ingredients. I also cut back on the hot sauce and tasted as I mixed until the flavor was right, adjusting the sesame oil and vinegar. I used angel hair pasta and did not drain it so that the sauce would stick to the noodles. I also sauteed a pound of shrimp in olive oil until they just turned pink. After removing the shrimp from the pan, I added the cabbage and bean sprouts and sauteed them until they were wilted but still crunchy. Then I added the shrimp and sauce to the pan with the veggies and heated everything together. I then added the noodles to the pan and mixed it all together until the noodles were coated with the sauce and served it as a hot dish. When I make it again, I will make just a little more of the sauce. The leftovers were good reheated in the microwave. This was delicious after I "made it my own", to quote RR.

Like others who reviewed this recipe, I found the sauce to be too thick. Next time, I will thin it down a bit. I followed the recipe exactly but could only taste the peanut butter. I also think that maybe this would taste better warm and heating it would thin the sauce a bit.

The recipe itself is a solid start - depending on the peanut butter I use, the sauce comes out pretty thick - i thinned it with a bit of the pasta water. I also used whole wheat pasta -- everyone's trying to get their whole grains and the flavors are strong enough to mask the wheat (for those who aren't keen on it.

My family and I loved these noodles. The flavors were great! I sometimes add a little extra peanut butter to them.
