I made this for my family one night and they loved it. Instaed of breakfast sausage I used hot sage sausage. It is very good but also very rich. I will definitely make this one again.

My husband just adores this bread. I do not use the sour cream or the salt since the cheese has enough salt, and the cream cheese and cheddar makes this recipe rich enough. I also added baby spinach and then the grated cheese before I put the top of the bread on. It gives it a "healthy" touch, and you will not miss the salt at all. I just seasoned the sausage with black pepper, red pepper flakes and the thyme. The jalepeno pepper can be optional since the onions and red and green pepper are sauted in with the meat. The cream cheese really makes it amazingly cheesy. Wrap it tight in the tin foil and when you open it, voila' you have a great hit for any party or pot luck. It is a bit rich, but once in a while we all need to splurge a bit. I have made this so many times, I no longer need to look at the recipe! Thanks Emeril, another BAM recipe!

Everyone enjoyed it and will make it again! As for the previous poster...you added 1/2 cup of the seasoning to the mixture?!?!? No wonder it tasted bad! It only calls for 1 teaspoon...

The creole seasoning yielded 2/3 of a cup and I only added 1/2 cup to the recipe and it was still inedible. It was way overseasoned and salty even as a dip instead of a meal.

Made this for our family holiday party and everyone loved it. Also, it's very easy to make. I made the dip early in the day, hollowed out the bread shortly before the guests arrived. Everyone wanted the recipe. Definitely a keeper.

I made this for a party my husband and I attended. After adding the filling to the loaves, I replaced the tops before wrapping in foil. I only baked them for 45 minutes because we were running late. The loaves went right from the oven to the car and were still hot when we arrived. It was the hit if the party! I received many requests for the recipe.

I am always leery about making something for a group if it has even one or two bad reviews. In a word.. Fabulous! I let my kids try it before I put them in the oven and they came down the stairs to see if there was any more! I put mine in 6 sub rolls because that is all the store had and am serving with chips, triscuits, and wheat thins. I'm sure it will be a hit!

Looking for something to take to pot-lucks that doesn't have to be re-heated. Will this set up enough to hang together when sliced? Used to do a loaf of bread stuffed with Italian sausage. This sounds better.

Great party food, for dip, or on the bread, even stuffed in a pepper.
