I just made the clam chowda. It is a keeper. I used evaporated milk instead of half and half because that was what I had on hand. Comes together fast. I always keep clams, chicken broth and evaporated milk on the shelf. So it will be a quick dinner when I don't have something thawed for dinner or forget to take something out.

This is a very easy chowder, but tastes like a lot of time and effort went into preparation. It's a little thinner than most clam chowders I've had in the past, but I actually like that. The leftovers heat up well, and make for a great lunch the next day. I haven't made the sandwiches, and don't intend to-the chowder with some crusty bread works just fine for our family. Thanks Rachael!

FYI, this has been my default go-to Chowder recipe since you aired...I love the fact that celery leaf tops are included : My family compares my (your chowder to Pike Place Chowder in Seattle, which is the ultimate and a compliment : Thank you for this show and recipe!

This was great and I also adapted the recipe to make manhatten clam chowder using spicy tomato juice. Yummo

I've been making this clam chowda since the first time i saw it on 30 mins, i think like 2 yrs ago.. ( with a few changes like more celery and potatoes, also use red potatoes instead of frozen We still love it and my husband and uncle request it quite often during hunting season and throughout winter. By far THE BEST SOUP EVER!!! If you haven't tried this do so, you will not be disappointed!

This clam chowder is the best I've ever made. It's easy and has a real "down East" taste. Thanks Rach.

This is the newest recipe to be added to my "Soup Recipes". Easy and quick to make. I had some fresh portabello mushrooms on hand that I cut up and added. A real flavorful clam chowder that everyone liked!
