Oh my goodness! This recipe was beyond delicious. It's not only tasty but with all the colors of the peppers and tomatoes, it was appealing to the eye as well. I will definitely be making this one again and again. Even my 4-year-old son liked it. I thought I would have to bribe him a little just to get him to taste it, but nope. He said "this looks yummy." I also used Mild Italian sausage and Sweet Italian sausage as other reviews had suggested, and I used Italian diced tomatoes and added an extra can because I wanted mine a little juicier. I will be making Texas Toast for the side to soak up all the delicious juices. Yumm yumm.

I make this dish all the time, been cooking it since it first aired on the Food Network! It's one of my favorites!!! I eliminate the cherry peppers and I substitute the turkey sausage with mild and hot italian sausage, but I boil the sausage first then slice about 1/2 inch circles and toss in skillet to crisp before I put in the oven. I usually use red, yellow and orange peppers and eliminate the green pepper out of convenience. My husband loves it and we add penne when we serve it for company. Delicious!

I was looking for something that was similar to Sausage and Peppers we had at an Italian family dinner. It is really good with a lot less olive oil! Wouldn't change a thing. The only veggies that are critical to the dish are the peppers, onions and canned tomatoes. Leave out what you don't have.

Stumbled upon this recipe and what a treasure I found!
Been reading all these "low carb" comments and let me tell you I had no idea this was a healthy dish.
Taste as good as the best S&P Ive ever had from grandma or any great restaurant.
A definite winner!

This recipe is simply delicious. I used sweet Italian sausages and did not use the red pepper flakes or hot cherry peppers as we cannot tolerate HOT spices. This makes quite a bit so be sure to use at least a 4 quart casserole. Leftovers can be frozen and reheated and are just as delicious. This is a winner !!!!!!!!!!

I'm relatively a beginner and I thought this dish was quick and easy to make. My husband loved it. We're donig low carbs, but I think this dish would be great with a side of rice or even pasta. I will definitely make this one again.

I made this dish,(without the hot peppers and it was really tasty! Even if you don't do low-carb, you can add a few baby reds to the casserole and it will come out perfectly. I will definitely make this again.

This dish came out awful for me! What a huge waste of money. The peppers, sausage, and green beans were not cheap, and they all went in the garbage. It wasn't even edible, I had 2 bites and gagged, kids wouldn't touch it, husband hated it. Take my advice and find something else to make for dinner. I followed the directions, so it wasn't anything I did to it, just a bad recipe.

Definately a winner!! My fiancee saw me making this dish and just knew that he wouldn't like it, due to all of the vegetables and everything, but suprise suprise! He said this is one of his favorites! I am low carb-ing so I ate this by itself, but made rice for him and my daughter.
I halfed the recipe and it turned out great! I used the full amount of all of the spices though, garlic, basil, etc. We both really think the fresh basil on top was what put this dish over the top!

I definitely felt healthy after eating this casserole. I just wasn't completely sold on it. I probably wouldn't make this again.
