I just watched the show and had to see reviews. I am glad to see that I am not alone. Why would you crush an apple pie...with the crust and place on a puff pastry? Semi-Homemade? Full waste of effort.

I liked the concept of this recipe and thought it looked spectacular on the show. However, it was really hard to put together and plate up. When placing the 2nd and 3rd layers, it fell over & came all apart...of course this was right before my guests were to arrive. I basically cut it into serving sizes and scooped it on to dessert plates, which I topped w/ add'l whipped cream and glaze. Everyone raved about the taste of the dessert, even tho' it looked a mess on the plate. Might be easier to just make the pie and serve everyone a piece.

This recipe is great if you need to take out your frustrations on apple pie. It is great therapy, really. How many times have you had to resist the temptation to mush up a pie? Well, now you have aa actual reason to! Aside from that, just make the desert with some apple pie filling (homemade or canned and real whipped cream (once again, either homemade or canned and a drizzle of caramel sauce. THAT would be delicious!

This was very easy and looks elegant. Next time I am going to try Peach or Cherry pie.

I made this and it fell over and was a mess on the platter.

This was a total mess, waste of a pie, and darn expensive. It also tasted pretty bad.

    This was awful.

It looked very easy yet elegant on the show but it turned out just the opposite. It was hard to make and a sloppy mess. Plus I did feel silly making it. I agree with the others: just serve the pie with some ice cream -- don't smash it up and try to make it something it's not.
