I am definitely a beginner when it comes to cooking. Although I wasnt sure I would like this recipe, I love to try new things. Usually with not much success. This was wonderful!! The gremolata adds the something missing at the end.

I am a huge fan of Rachael Ray...but this was not one of her best recipes. It did not save well either...all of the fat from the beef went to the top of the soup and i opened it the next day and it was just nasty looking...the dumpling tasted pretty bland..i added in a lot of extra garlic

Used turkey instead of the veal otherwise followed the recipe to the T. Good flavor and easy to make. Definitely a keeper!

We made this without Veal and anchovies.
We subsituted ground beef for the dumplings and made the gremolata with olive oil, crushed garlic, parsley and lemon zest. It was even better the second day!

This is a tasty, one dish supper. Follow the easy direction Rachael provides. It helps to have a friend be your sous chef, to chop the veggies and cut prep time. The reward is a solid, soothing meal. Save some Pino Grigio to go with the crusty bread. The accompiment of the chopped garlic, lemon zest and anchovies is a delightful touch.

My family loved this recipe, even my 2 year old! They ate every last bite. It was easy and delicious. I would definitely make it over and over again.

I used a mixture of ground chicken and ground italian sausage for the meatballs. I left out the anchovies and just added the garlic, parsley and and lemon zest during the last 5 minutes. I also added a zuccini to this recipe for added veggies. The meatballs were perfect. Everyone loved the stoup!

This soup tastes pretty good and it's great for leftovers--also really cheap. However, the mixture of parsley and anchovies to spoon on top really bothered my stomach and I personally didn't think it added that much to the dish; sour cream works better for me, personally.
