This recipe was terrific. My husband is not a salmon fan but he raved about this one. My picky kids even loved it.

I made this on the BBQ for 45 people at my husbands 40th birthday party. It was a hugh hit. Very flavorful, smoked salmon.

My family and I have made this for baby blessings, formal birthday parties, and showers of all kinds, not to mention regular dinner. It is so easy, with an impressive finish. Everyone always raves about this dish and when we don't serve it at parties people ask about it. Just great!

This is absolutely delicious. We do not use the plank. We jsut put it on a cookie sheet in the oven. I'm sure the fish on the plank would be even better!

This recipe was a hit at our last cookout. We were a little skeptical at first since the wood didn't really have a smell to it and there was what seemed to be a lot of balsamic vinegar. but heh, if this was good enough for someone to cater their own wedding we figured it would be good enough for us. Just wait until the flames hit the planks! The smell is pure heaven! Modifications: we soaked the planks overnight and did it all out on the grill. Don't go for 20 minutes for medium. It will be overdone. Try coupling with bacon wrapped asparagus also cooked on the grill and you are good to go.

Sweet and tangy, a bit messy to make, but worth it.

This dish is really easy entertaining. I love Mr. Chiarello's recipes and they are so impressive for entertaining.

Presenting this fish on the charred plank with its beautiful flavors and juices made my brother and sister really enjoy the salmon. Thanks so much.

And I didn't quite understand the confusion that the other commentor stated. It is a very straight-forward recipe.

And if I may add, I only had a skinned salmon side (2.6 lb and it didn't really cause a sticking problem at all. I just made sure to oil the plank really nicely so that the flesh wouldn't stick to the plank. Grazie Signore Chiarello.
